The Pleasures of Piemonte

Tucked into the northwest corner of Italy, Piemonte is one of the most prosperous and less visited regions in Italy.

Tucked into the northwest corner of Italy, Piemonte is one of the most prosperous and less visited regions in Italy. Castle-topped hill towns will delight you with stunning view of farms, fields and vineyards and the magnificent mountains.

Pis del Pesio, Hiking in the Maritime Alps.

I have always loved the mountains and I remember my first train ride to Piemonte fondly as the train chugged its way through the Maritime Alps from the city of Ventimiglia to the town of Fossano in the region of Piedmont.

Buongiorno amici! It is time for a new recipe and a short video clip. I’ve been working a bit on my video skills, and while I’m certainly not a professional film maker yet, (ha-ha) the bar has been raised

Attitude Adjustment Part Two…Lessons I'm Learning

April 25, 2020September 12, 2020 / Lisa's Dolce Italia / 13 Comments

From the edge of town, the mountain is called Bisalta for it's two peaks. I can't wait to be able to walk here again. For now it's still off limits...10 days to go! I cried myself to sleep last night. After our 7th week of lock down, the ups and downs of the week, the … Continue reading Attitude Adjustment Part Two…Lessons I'm Learning

A Recipe for an Attitude Adjustment

April 18, 2020September 12, 2020 / Lisa's Dolce Italia / 7 Comments

Another week of quarantine has passed and when I woke up this morning I found a message or rather a picture from my brother on my phone. The picture looks across Lake Washington at the Bellevue city skyline with the Cascade Mountains in the background. It is a beautiful day and I know exactly where … Continue reading A Recipe for an Attitude Adjustment

Buona Pasqua…Happy Easter

Easter is nearly here, we have just finished our first month of national quarantine and have survived 6 weeks of homeschooling.   We are officially enjoying our Easter holiday although it doesn't really feel any different from anything else right now.  No video lessons but there is still more than enough homework due right after the … Continue reading Buona Pasqua…Happy Easter

Another Week inside…Forza!

April 4, 2020September 12, 2020 / Lisa's Dolce Italia / 9 Comments

Forza, means strength in Italian,  Forza used in our daily vocabulary means to be strong.  It's something you would say to someone going through a major illness, to someone who is grieving, going through a particularly stressful situation.  Forza Italia is what we in Italy need to hear right now but it's also the name of … Continue reading Another Week inside…Forza!

Speranza…Keeping Hope Alive

March 28, 2020September 12, 2020 / Lisa's Dolce Italia / 5 Comments

The past few weeks have strangely both flown by and dragged by.  While things were gradually shutting down after finishing my last tour at the end of February, I still couldn't imagine the storm that was brewing.  I am not sure I want to imagine what is yet to come.  There has been an amazing … Continue reading Speranza…Keeping Hope Alive

Incertezze…Uncertainties

March 15, 2020September 12, 2020 / Lisa's Dolce Italia / 5 Comments

The Coronvirus has turned our world upside down and inside out, it is filled with incertezze.  Being confined to home there is nothing urgent pulling me out of bed in the morning...I actually open my eyes and think to myself, "can I just stay here awhile and not think about what's going on?"  Since Mauro didn't … Continue reading Incertezze…Uncertainties

With all the Coronavirus craziness going on here in Italy and basically being confined to my home village, I have actually decided to try and write a bit again.  For those of you out there reading this, thank you!  If you are wondering why I haven't written in such a long time, I will say … Continue reading What Next…

Unexpected Treasure

July 9, 2018September 12, 2020 / Lisa's Dolce Italia / 5 Comments

Wow, it has been awhile since I have written anything.  This, after promising to write more frequently.  Can I just say life has been busy?  I feel like I have been running nonstop since my first tour in March.  I have had a little time at home in between tours but between catching up with … Continue reading Unexpected Treasure

Home Sweet Home…Amen

April 27, 2018September 12, 2020 / Lisa's Dolce Italia / 3 Comments

Once again I am home between tours. Spring has finally sprung and I am trying to cram a months worth of house and yard work into a couple of weeks. Today the inside of the house was a mess, as I scrambled to finish weeding and planting before it started raining, I was taking a … Continue reading Home Sweet Home…Amen
